The Hillandale Volunteer Fire Department is pleased to offer free classes for anyone in the community who would like to learn potentially lifesaving skills. Our firefighters and EMTs can be on the scene of any emergency within a few minutes—but when every minute counts, a well-trained bystander can save a person's life in the time it takes for an ambulance to arrive. For that reason, Hillandale considers its public training programs an important part of its public safety role.

The following classes are being offered:

We hold classes at Fire Station 12 (10617 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, MD), but we can also bring our Stop the Bleed class to your house of worship or community organization. Although the classes are free, we encourage a $25 donation for the CPR classes to help support our public outreach, as well as the cost of instructional materials. Please note, for persons who wish to receive an e-card from the AHA certifying their completion of the Heartsaver training, there is a charge of $18.50 (imposed by the AHA).

Class size is limited, due to the amount of time each student will require with our AHA-certified instructors. If you would like to be notified when the next class becomes available, please register below. Any questions can be emailed to HVFDCPR@gmail.com
